Overview of position: 
The company is seeking a real estate attorney, with an emphasis on purchase money transactions, to handle all aspects of the closing process which shall include a review of the purchase contract and lender instructions for all related terms and conditions, an examination of the title for determination of insurability and marketability and the handling of any special matters which require legal expertise.  In addition, this person must possess a strong ability to develop and deepen relationships with clients and customers.  
 
Summary of essential job functions:

  • Review of purchase and sales agreements and related documents
  • Negotiation of contract terms and conditions
  • Examination of title
  • Perform purchase transaction closings
  • Quality review, preparation and delivery of loan closing documents
  • Ensure files close in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Build relationships with customers and real estate professionals
  • Ensuring the accuracy of fees and charges related to the transaction
  • Professional interaction with all parties to the transaction
  • Raising any process or systemic issues accordingly
  • Assist team members in all other functions as assigned by management
  • Assist borrowers, agents and customers with questions related to loan closing
  • Comply with all security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of customer NPPI (Non-public personal information), the company’s information and assets.
  • Responsible to report any security incident, violation or act of non-compliance with the company’s security policies and procedures to managers, IT or appropriate ENT contact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts required 
  • Licensed to practice in Rhode Island preferred
  • 5 plus years real estate law practice experience
